‘Tis the season for summer vacation travels! If you are renting a vehicle, you will be asked if you would like to purchase auto insurance to cover the vehicle while it is in your possession. While your personal auto policy may provide some coverage, the vehicle rental agreement holds you legally responsible for items that may not be covered such as the administrative fees they charge for any loss you may have with the vehicle; the daily rate for the vehicle while it can’t be rented out due to repairs/destruction; and the depreciated value of the vehicle after the repairs are made.
We recommend that you discuss your decision with your agent to ensure you have a good understanding of the coverage that will extend to the rented vehicle.
Traveling internationally? Buy the rental car’s insurance! 😊
